Who Do They Hurt?

Hong Kong's copyright industries are a vital part of the local economy and piracy threatens their growth and economic and cultural contribution to our society.

Piracy affects not just big production and distribution companies but also independent film and television producers and cinema owners, DVD retail stores, small franchise businesses, and all the people they employ.

Piracy hurt all Hong Kong people since they don't pay tax on the illegal copies they distribute or sell, thus not contributing to the welfare of all Hong Kong people.
